FAQs

What is the difference between a standard and extreme drop kit?

A

Our ready to install, out of the box default coilover kits provide moderate drop and comfortable ride while still increasing roll resistance and overall handling. Our extreme drop kit gives approximately 1” more drop than our standard kit and more in some cases when requested, and sometimes (but not always) includes stiffer spring rates but also available to order at no additional charge on request if available for your vehicle.

What is a full custom kit, and what does it include?

A

One thing that sets BC-Racing apart from our competitors is that we offer custom options with our kits. When spring rates are changed, we also valve the damper to match the spring rate used where required or upon your request. For “extreme low” kits we use shorter springs, shorter dampers, or both depending on the custom build kit required and we offer this all at no additional cost to you.

Should I order custom spring rates?

A

Custom springs rates should only be used when you have already experimented with our standard spring rates or if your build requires stiffer spring rates for other reasons such as certain track conditions, other supporting mods, or aggressive wheel setup in order to minimize wheel/tyre clearance problems.

What spring rates should I order?

A

Custom rates should only be used in very specific circumstances such as track only vehicles which have much different weight distribution, very large low tread wear tires, trying to add or reduce a certain handling characteristic, or for very tight guard/fender to lip fitment. Please take care in making your decision that best suits your needs and take into consideration as mentioned above regarding experimenting the use of a BC-Racing kit in the same vehicle with standard spring rates or a custom spring rate kit to check before placing your order.

How much higher can I go in spring rate if I already have a kit?

A

You can go up 2kg or down 2kg in spring rate. Exceeding 2kg in variation requires a damper/valving change to avoid possible damage to the cartridge installed in your kit. Feel free to contact us if you wish to make these changes and we can assist in making order for the appropriate parts to makes these changes safely.

Will my kit be able to go to factory standard ride height?

A

In most cases no as the BC-Racing kits are specifically designed to allow for lowering adjustability from the standard ride height so its not always possible to achieve the standard factory ride height also. In saying this in some cases where possible we are able to have a custom kit manufactured which is supplied with longer than standard default cartridges which may allow for factory or close to factory ride heights. Please keep in mind this will reduce the overall height adjustability available to the vehicle therefore not able to achieve the same lowering position as the standard default out of the box coilover kit. Please feel free to contact us prior to making order if you would like to confirm if this option might be available to your vehicle if this is something you require from your coilover kit.

Am I ordering a full kit?

A

Yes, all BC-Racing Coilover kits come with 4 coilovers, one for each corner of the car. Not all BC Racing Coilover kits come with top mounts so some kits will require the use of OEM top mounts. Not all vehicle fitted with Pillow Ball upper top mounts are camber adjustable this option is available to kits which feature this please feel free to contact us regarding if your vehicle is optioned with camber adjustment prior to making order with us.

Can I order coilover pairs or parts etc to repair my coilovers?

A

Yes, we here at BC-Racing Australia can assist with sales for complete front or rear pairs of coilovers or even a complete single coilover. We are also able to offer any single replacement part associated with your coilover kit including replacement shock cartridges if at any stage these items may be required.

How long does it take for my order to arrive to me?

A

Here at BC-Racing Australia we try our very best to stock the most popular and bestselling kits available for our customers. We continue to stock upwards of 200 sets at any time with regular stock orders of 100+ sets being shipped from BC-Racing HQ monthly. Unfortunately, with huge vehicle application range and with so many different model kits available it's simply not possible to keep all these kits available for our customers.
